An increase in the salary of the engineer of the

Disinfecting Station nasely $216 to $420. The

Board has found it impossible to obtain a reliable

man for a lower salary,

The appointment of a stoker in lieu of a watchman

at the Disinfecting Station. Experience has shown

that the services of a stoker are absolutely

necessary. This will cause an increase of $36 a

year (Salary of watchman $108: stoker $144).

I attach a tabulated statement showing the difference between the

Estimates of the Sanitary Department for 1901 and 1902 and have

the honour to request your authority to adopt the proposed

increases and modifications recommended by the Boarl.
